• Crossroads service is about giving time - improving the lives of Carers by giving them “time to be themselves” and to have a break from their caring responsibilities.
  
  
• Our aim is to provide a reliable service tailored to meet the individual need of each Carer, as well as the person they are caring for.
  
  
• We provide practical support where and when it is most needed - usually in the home but sometimes in a day care setting.
  
  
• A trained Carer Support Worker will take over from the Carer to give them time to be themselves.
  
  
• We talk to Carers about how often they would like us to visit, how long the visit should be and at what time they would like our support to be provided.
  
  
• They then have the “time” to as they wish - to see friends, keep appointments, work, study or even just sleep.
  
  
• Crossroads in Wirral provides a range of services to meet local needs for carers of people of all ages and disabilities, from palliative care to clubs for children with special needs, with one thing in common - respite for Carers.
  
  

Most of us juggle busy lives but if you look after a relative or child or a friend who needs your help because they are frail, ill or have a disability, you would probably find it extremely difficult to have some time for yourself.
