Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is the most common disabling neurological condition affecting young adults. Around 85,000 people in the UK have MS.

MS is typically diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 40, but the symptoms of MS can begin at any age. It is estimated that about 5% of people with MS develop symptoms in childhood or adolescence.
Currently there is no cure for MS but there are now drugs which can modify its course for some people and many symptoms can be successfully treated or managed.
Common symptoms include pain, deadening fatigue, problems with sight, mobility and co-ordination.
Prognosis is uncertain - ranging from benign through 'coming and going' to severely disabling.
We are committed to bringing high standards of quality health and social care within reach of everyone affected by MS

The Wirral Branch of the MS Society has over 200 members and is
run by volunteers from the membership.

We offer support and information for everyone affected by MS in
Wirral. We also support health and social care professionals to
develop services for people with MS.

MS is totally unpredictable and can strike anyone.
